05/04/2011 - The Royal Wedding cake
Royal wedding plans announced recently, state that the main cake will be a fruity, floral masterwork designed with input from Kate Middleton, but Prince William will get his childhood favorite chocolate biscuit cake too.
When it comes to the future king and queen, two cakes are better than one.
Palace officials said the royal couple have chosen a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake decorated with cream and white icing that will be created by designer Fiona Cairns, a cakemaker to the stars - such as former Beatle Paul McCartney - who has built a thriving business since starting to bake at her kitchen table 25 years ago.
The actual design remains a secret, but the cake will have a strong British floral theme, developed with extensive input from Ms Middleton.
The master baker will use the Lambeth Method, a popular English style that relies on intricate piping and scrollwork to create leaves, flowers and other decorative elements.
The cake is expected to be prominently displayed at the Buckingham Palace reception for about 600 guests that will follow the April 29 nuptials at Westminster Abbey. But guests will also be able to enjoy the chocolate biscuit cake, made from a royal family receipe and requested by Prince William.

28/07/2010 - Famous Weddings of the 20th Century – Prince RanierIII & Grace Kelly
Famous Weddings of the 20th Century – Prince RanierIII & Grace Kelly The royal palace in Monaco says Prince Albert II will marry his future bride in July 2011. Albert is engaged to Charlene Wittstock, a former Olympic swimmer from South Africa. The palace in the Riviera principality said that the two have set a date for a religious ceremony: July 9, 2011.
A civil ceremony will take place the day earlier. His betrothed has iconic shoes to fill, stepping into a role left vacant since the death of much-beloved Princess Grace in a car crash in 1982. Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 in two separate ceremonies: a civil ceremony on 18 April and in a Catholic Mass on 19 April.
The wedding was called "The Wedding of the Century" and is still considered one of the most beautiful & stylish weddings ever. Grace Kelly's wedding gown was designed by Helen Rose, who had dressed her in High Society and The Swan. The wedding dress consisted of a rounded collar, full skirt of ivory peau de soie, and a fitted bodice made from Brussels lace embroidered with seed pearls. The lace was over a century old and had flower designs in it. 25 yards of silk taffeta and 100 yards of silk net were used in the construction of the dress. Under her wedding gown, Grace's petticoats had tiny blue satin bows. The shoes paired with Grace's wedding dress were from Evins, New York, and were designed by David Evins. A copper penny was built into the right shoe for good luck. A popular belief is that Grace wore flats so that she would not be much taller than Rainier, these shoes actually have 2 1/2"-inch heels. Grace's bridal bouquet was of lily-of-the-valley, and the ribbons of her bouquet had small sprigs attached to them. She left the bouquet on the altar of the Chapel of St. Dévote after the wedding.
The entire adult population of Monaco, over 3,000 people was invited to the celebration following the wedding. The people of Monaco gave Grace and Rainier a cream and black Rolls Royce convertible as a wedding gift. After the religious wedding ceremony, the couple drove through the streets of Monaco in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJXcE5KmSqM

18/03/2009 - Whats Hot: Colours for 2009 / 2010
This season we have been dominated with purples and lilacs. These have been very much the "IN" colours. The ever popular creams and gold’s have been very much in demand for 2009, combining similar neutral colours always looks well especially if you use different textures for covers and sashes.
2010 is going to bring a revival of the bright citrus colours i.e. oranges and yellows. These work well when combined with paler pastel colours such as orange and peach or yellow toned with cream.
When choosing your colour theme for your venue decoration it is not always best to choose the colour of your bridesmaid dress, sometimes your table decor will more effective if you choose colours that are sympathetic with the colour scheme of your room.
